Co.Un Yamada 2026 New Work: Moments Musicaux
Moments Musicaux, a new work where poetry, music, and the physical body intersect. Co.Un Yamada takes on this challenge, welcoming the poet sibitt, to create a dance work revolving around the "premonition of the moment of birth.
" Based on Rachmaninoff's piano suite Moments Musicaux, the resonance between poetry, sound, and body, and the large ensemble of 21 dancers led by Un Yamada, depicts the "now" suspended between sound and words—the moment the world begins to breathe.

Yuko Higuchi’s heartwarming picture book, "SEKAIICHI NO NEKO," comes to the stage! Nyanko, a beloved stuffed cat, wants to become a real cat so that his young master (Bocchan) will love him forever. Through the kindness of the real cats he meets on his journey, Nyanko discovers true happiness. Expressive puppets and dancers portray the gentle yet poignant world depicted in the picture book with warm words, delightful songs, and dance.

This omnibus work takes as its motif gardens, hospital rooms, dining tables, lovemaking, chaos, festivals, closed borders, and mundane shapes found here and there on earth. It also includes the sense of loss of everyday life that was born from the COVID-19 pandemic of 2020. These motifs are then condensed into a vortex dance that represents the cosmos, or the order of the universe.
